trying to pick which horses to buy and save was a bit of a heartbreaking process. knowing i could save but a few. :(
we didn't have much info on them, just age, sex, and one snapshot.
one thing i knew, that the colts and fillies were running together.
that piece of knowledge cemented the decision on a number of picks.
i picked older fillies knowing we could be saving 2 lives for every one.
of the 4 fillies 3 of them were pregnant.
unfortunately our story is not without sadness.
Nell lost her foal in feb. :( :(
that left November and Eleven due to foal at unknown dates.
Eleven's foal came first, arriving June 4th at 12:45 am.
u guys already know that i wanted the names to be significant,....
well, meet Remember. :XD:

and as a bright red spark of new life and hope, Ember is a great shortform. :D

eleven was a fantastic mommy right from the start. gentle, attentive,

she talked and talked to her new baby. if anyone has not heard a mare talk to her new baby you can listen to eleven here. no video as it was too dark for the camera but you can hear her. :D

and she licked and licked

i was a bit concerned for ember's ears tho

ember was just a sweet wee baby. :XD:
with no other foals here she had only her shadow to play with...

she got brave enuff to meet hannah, under the safety of mommy's belly. :D

but hank proved to be her favourite, maybe becuz they were almost the same size?

shortly they were playing follow the leader ....

seven mths later ember is getting sooo big it's unbelievable.

but she's still a sweetie

and she still likes hank
